Your Gift Supports Youth Mental Health

Six years ago, our mountain communities were forever impacted by three teen suicides. We were made painfully aware of the mental health issues that young people face and the lack of life saving resources accessible to them. A group of local therapists and community members were called to action and founded Resilience1220. They worked tirelessly to break down barriers to neighborhood mental health resources and the social stigmas around seeking care. Resilience1220 provides confidential counseling services to youth ages 12 to 20 at no cost. Our service area includes Jefferson, Clear Creek, Gilpin, and Park counties.

Since 2019, we have served almost 1,760 youth, parents and teachers in individual therapy. We have held over 520 groups for youth and families reaching over 1,730 people. Our community outreach program has impacted over 12,300 community members. We have provided over 7,830 hours of counseling to youth in our community, thanks to the dedication and support of donors like you!

Through individual counseling sessions, teens learn how to build resiliency and put into practice coping strategies to face today’s challenges - from bullying to social media to the loss of a loved one. Through our group therapy sessions, teens build community and connection with their peers. By sponsoring just one hour of counseling, you can save a teen’s life.
